In nature, pests are usually controlled by the presence of insect predators and parasites which keep the populations of the harmful insects in control.

Most of the insects in nature are either beneficial or at least harmless. There are many ways to encourage insect predators in one’s garden.

1. Create a suitable habitat for insect predators. Flowering shrubs and trees throughout the garden will attract many beneficial insects including parasitic wasps which require pollen and nectar for their growth and maturity. Plants belonging to Umbelliferae family are particularly effective in attracting natural enemies of pests.

2. Provide alternate hosts for pests. To ensure availability of food for the beneficial organisms, grow alternate host plants along fence lines and in between cultivated crops. The natural enemy populations on these alternate host plants will control pests attacking the cultivated crop.

Your living room is the entertainment and living center of your home. Chances are that you’ve had some very memorable gatherings there, and it is where you relax and enjoy the company of family and friends. If you have a fireplace mantel, replacing it with something a little different can have a major impact on your living room. There didn’t used to be as many choices in building materials as there are today. Something was either made of wood, metal or stone. Materials had to be harvested or mined and then fashioned into whatever shape needed to construct the finished product. Today it is much different. New, synthetic and composite materials are cropping up everywhere and are proving to be not only a viable alternative to natural materials, but one that makes like a bit easier.

How Faux Wood is Made

Faux simply means that it is not genuine or real. When referring to wood, it means that although it is not real wood, it looks just like it. However, that is where the commonality ends. It may look just like real wood, which is of course the desired look, but it behaves very differently.

The faux wood used in shutters is actually a polyurethane material. In short it is a really strong plastic. This compressed, man-made material is consistent from the inside out. This has great significance when being used to make shutters.

Shutters are often cut to size in order to fit into specific window measurements. Because of this, a “raw” edge is left on the top or bottom. With real wood, the cut edge would need to be refinished – either painted or stained – to match the face of the shutter. With faux wood, the material is the same from the core out. When you cut the surface, it does not splinter and even better, it is the same colour throughout. There is no touch-up refinishing required!

The Advantages of Faux Wood

Real wood is very porous. It is greatly affected by moisture and temperature changes. Just take a look at how interior doors seem to not close quite right during the hot, humid summer months, but work just fine in the winter. That is because with heat and humidity – or moisture of any kind – wood will expand and warp. When the weather turns colder, the wood then condenses to its original size. Moisture can also cause warping that is not restored once the weather changes.

In this 4 June, Procter and Gamble Company’s Bounty has been working with thousand local people in Los Angeles, together they held and celebrate National Volunteer Week with some environment educational program for more than 30 schools in more than 9 cities in Los Angeles.

This program is designed for all people around Los Angeles and has a special theme which is named; make a clean difference in Los Angeles. This program invited local volunteers to be the part of this program and make a clean difference for the city. This program has been designed for elementary students to know more about environment and green world.

The programs taught and introduced some steps to prevent environment destruction while playing on the yard and also in the school room. This is National Volunteer Week, so all volunteers will be involved in this activity to get the best result. The biggest target of this program is to introduce all students how important clean and green world in order to keep the balance of this world’s system.

This National Volunteer Week has been discussed by President Obama and of course will be routine program for the next year or maybe it can be held in another city across Unite State of America to introduce environment knowledge to all students at schools.

Tomatoes

Once the seedling leaves appear, place them in direct sunlight for three hours every day till the leaves are grown. Then transplant the seedling into a pot.
